Over 30 million people visit the state of Florida each year. It’s one of the most popular places within the country for people to vacation. One of the top questions that those planning a vacation have is that they want to know the best month to visit Florida. It would be great if there was one simple answer to this question, but there is not. The more you learn about the many different things to do in Florida, the more you will see why there is no bad month to visit Florida.

The best month to visit Florida largely comes down to what it is that you want to do when you are here. Being that Florida gets nice weather all year long, you can engage in a variety of activities during any month. Let’s take a look at a few of the seasons and what type of vacation goes best with each one.

  • Spring – Spring in Florida is wonderful! It’s a great time to hit up the theme parks, go to the beach, hike, kayak, and more. You can pretty much engage in everything during the spring, because it’s not too hot and not too cold. You may get some rain here and there, so keep that in mind.
  • Summer – Summer is a good time of the year for those who want to enjoy the many natural springs that the state has to offer, as well as hit the beach. The beaches get plenty of attention during the summer months. This is not a good time to visit the state to go hiking, however, because the bugs and heat will be relentless. Note that nearly every afternoon a shower moves in for about an hour or so, and then it clears back up. It’s a nice cool down to our hot summer days.
  • Fall – Fall is when hurricane season is at its peak, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a good time to visit Florida. You want to miss hurricane days, but those are few and far between. The temperatures are still nice for hitting the beaches and springs.
  • Winter – This is a great time of the year to visit Florida to enjoy walking the beach. While some tourists will take a dip, most people find the water a little brisk. But it’s lovely to walk the beach or sit out on it to relax and renew. It’s also a great time to visit the theme parks. Winter can have some very chilly mornings, which are the best days to head over to the springs to see the manatees.

If you live in a northern state that has a cold winter, you will love visiting Florida during the winter. It will give you a nice break from the snow. Truth be told, there is no bad time to visit the state. The best month to visit Florida is whichever one appeals to you most and fits your schedule.
