Nearly 112 million travel to the state of Florida each year. It’s a place where people from around the world come to visit. Whether you are looking for a beach vacation, theme park vacation, or something else, this state has all of it to offer, and more. One thing people may not be sure about, however, is choosing the best time to travel to Florida.
The best time to travel to Florida depends on a several factors, including how you will be traveling to the state, and what you plan to do when you get there. If you are visiting from a northern state and are driving, for example, you may want to take the wintry drive into account if you are planning to visit in January. On the other hand, if you are flying out of the north and wanting to be in warmer weather, then January would be wonderful.
Choosing the best time to travel to Florida also depends on what you want to do on your vacation. Here are some tips for the most popular types of Florida vacations that people may have:
- Florida theme park vacation – Hitting up the theme parks is going to be much more enjoyable during cooler months. The best time to travel to Florida to go to the theme parks will be October through April. If you go during the summer the temperatures are brutal, and you spend all day walking around in it.
- Beach vacation in Florida – Beach vacations in Florida can be fun anytime of the year. The water is cooler during the winter months, but most people who are vacationing here don’t seem to mind. During hurricane season, however, you may find some weather that puts a damper on things.
- Springs vacation – Florida has beautiful natural springs that you can swim in. They typically stay around 72 degrees all year. During the summer they are filled with people who are snorkeling and tubing. Rarely do people go into the springs during the winter months, and some springs are closed to swimmers during those months, because manatees seek refuge in them at that time.
- Hiking and camping vacations – There are many great places to hike and camp in Florida. Hiking season is typically around November through March, as there are too many bugs during the warmer season. If you will be camping in a RV anytime is good, but if you are tent camping you will want to skip summer months for the most comfort.
Florida is a state that offers a lot of fun all year long. There’s something for everyone to do no matter what time of the year it may be. Whether you want to have fun at the beach, hit the theme parks, or do a little of both, you are sure to find your perfect time to do it.
